2 weeks ago, a whale got stuck in the Dana Point Harbor, and so, like everyone else in southern orange county, we went to see. Instead of photographing the whale, I shot these two of the people watching... HOPING they'd get a good photo with their cameras. Quite funny. People looked like zombies, holding their hands straight out for minutes at a time, and would finally take the picture when the whale surfaced for maybe 3 seconds.
This was Drew's first whale siting (and if you play "i-spy-with-my-little-eye", you'll see him in the first photo) and what a whale to see! It was very red, old, and small. It had been going around the harbor for a few days by the time it was on the news, alerting everyone to go see. We were about 20 feet from it at the most so that was pretty cool. But poor thing died about a week later after swimming back to the ocean, then coming back to die.

How neat! I don't think I have seen a whale here before. I am sure there was some great people watching to be done there!
