Homework assignment

In my design class, we decided to do a project that would be more on the fun side than the design side. I've always had a love for Dr. Suess so when our professor told us that we had to take a masterpiece and "dr. suess it", I was very happy. The masterpiece that I had chosen is by Louis Degaurre. I found out a few years ago that he is one of my great grandfathers. He was also one of the first people to invent photography, and I'm pretty sure that this is the first photograph with a person in it. This is in Paris, with a 3 hour exposure, so there aren't anyone in the streets or on the sidewalk, EXCEPT for two people. The shoe shiner, and the shoe shine-ee. So for our assignment, I "Dr. Suess"ed it. See below.

. Now when we had critiques, I realized that the 15 hours I had put into making this wasn't enough! If I had sketched it or drawn it, it would have looked much more like his art. Everyone else's was so good! And I went into class pretty confident. I'm not going to frame this or anything, but I did think that my 15 hours would have paid off. Oh well.

I love it. I'd frame it and put it in your first baby's room!
