The 4th was spent this year with the Devine's (my brother's in-laws), which are more like blood family than anything. We decided to go to Rivi instead of 3 Arch, for a change of pace, and boy was it crowded! Crowded isn't even the right word for it. Packed. Swarming with kids like a public community pool on the first day of summer. It was nuts. We paddled boarded.all.day. We ate good food and talked about where we want to travel to next. Then we hurried home for a quick scrub and then headed over for some of Glenda's delicious eats! We've spent many sunsets on their balcony, but this one was more special because we knew once it was dark, we were closer to seeing the fireworks. Not just one firework show, but like a million! We saw San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna Beach and San Juan. It was so glorious. And the best part was hearing how excited Jadey was for the fireworks, and sitting in the jacuzzi while watching them.
The 4th of July is and always has been my favorite holiday! The sand, the water, BBQ, the sun, family and friends...it really doesn't get much better than that.
